Joseph R. Zacharias, MD, DDS
MEET DR. ZACHARIAS
Dr. Joseph Zacharias was born in Green Bay, WI as the oldest of six children. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology at Carroll University where he graduated summa cum laude and played collegiate baseball. Dr. Zacharias obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University where he graduated #1 in his class. He then received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He went on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital, which included two years as a general surgery resident. He also received extensive training in inpatient and outpatient general anesthesia.
Dr. Zacharias has joined Oral Surgical Institute with clinical interests in corrective jaw surgery, pathology of the head and neck, maxillofacial trauma, adult and pediatric sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint disorders and pathology, facial reconstruction, and nerve repair. Dr. Zacharias also practices outpatient oral and maxillofacial surgery including third molar extractions, bone grafting, dental implants, and ambulatory intravenous sedation.
In his free time, Dr. Zacharias enjoys skiing, hiking, and biking. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Caroline, daughter Grace, and rescue dog, Olive.
